Born in Tezkov, Bohemia, Oct. 23, 1897, a daughter of John and Marie Veverka Jedlicka, she came to the United States with her parents at the age of eight and settled with the family in Chicago. Upon completing her schooling, she was employed at several factories in Chicago before moving to Ionia in 1930. She later married Glenn Gable, May 31, 1937 in Perrysburg, Ohio, and the couple made their home in Pontiac until their return to Ionia in 1941, where both she and her husband were employed at the former AC Sparkplug plant. Mrs. Gable was also employed at Ionia County Memorial hospital, Eckert Nursing home and D&C in Ionia, and was a past member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Edwin Bradek, of Tacoma, Wash., and Clarence Bradek of Mundelein, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Joeffrey Whitmer of Lake Ann; two step-daughters, Mrs. Leonard Sparkes of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Mrs. David Hoeft of Flint; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body is at Leddick funeral home where friends and relatives may call Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Services will be September 28 at 1 pm from the funeral home with the Rev A. R. Gallert of St John Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom cemetery.
