Gage, 74, of route 1, Muir, died Monday at Sparrow hospital in Lansing following an extended illness. She was born in Ionia county, North Plains township, August 7, 1896, the daughter of Eli and Theressa Stoudt. A graduate of Muir high school she also graduated from Ionia County Normal. She lived most of her life in North Plains township and was a member of Hubbardston United Methodist Church, WSCS and Women’s Missionary Association. Survivors are three sons, Gordon of rural Muir, Dale and William of Hubbardston; six daughters, Mrs. Wilma Quigley of West Branch, Mrs. Virginia Gunter of Saranac, Mrs. Cecile Schneller of Saginaw, Mrs. Thressa Stevens of Hubbardston, Mrs. Joann Gerth of Davison, Mrs. Nancy Foland of St. Johns; brother, Kenneth Stoudt of Horton; sister, Mrs. Eunice Willitt of Lyons; two stepsisters, Mrs. Hazel Weeks of Detroit and Mrs. Inez Estell of Battle Creek. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hubbardston United Methodist church, Rev. Raymond Flessner will officiate and interment will be at East Plains cemetery. Mrs. Gage is at Abbott chapel of Osgood funeral home in Maple Rapids. A memorial has been established for Michigan Heart Association.
