Gage, 68, of Wimauma, Florida died Friday in Tampa, Florida. Born February 27, 1917 in North Plains Township, he was the son of John and Leitha Stoudt Gage. He was married to Lydia Potter. He was retired in 1973 as a mechanic for Searles Construction Co., St. Johns, and before that operated the Muir service station for many years. He also served as a Muir village councilman and was a member of Muir First Christian Church. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Hubbardston American Legion post, and a Disabled American Veterans post in Florida. He is survived by his wife, Lydia; two daughters, Ruth Haseman of Chicago and Terry Morriss of Alaska; four step children; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild; his former wife, Marvel; two brothers, Dale and William both of Hubbardston; and six sisters, Wilma Quigley of West (illigible) Cecil Schneller of Saginaw, Nancy Foland of St. Johns and Joanne Gerth of North Carolina. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Muir First Christian Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Muir Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Michigan Lung Association in care of Hull Memorial Chapel.
