Division street Friday, September 16th, following an illness which covered several weeks. Mrs. Gais was the widow of Max Gais and resided for many years in Grattan township, but for many years had been a well known and highly respected resident of this city, her home being at 547 Ionia street. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Alfred Davis, of Smyrna, and Mrs. Charles Coon, of this city; also two sons: Russell Gais, a city mail carrier, and Arthur Gais, of Alma. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Fales funeral home, with Rev. Charles W. Biastock, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating, and burial was by the side of her late husband who died many years ago, in River Ridge cemetery.
