Gallagher, 81, of 965 Gallagher Road, Ionia, died at the home of his daughter, Lucille Kohloff, of 525 Rich St., Ionia, early Friday morning. He was born December 16, 1902, in Easton Township, the son of James P. and Mary Fea Gallagher. He was married to Fern Connor, who died in 1943. He married Blanche Slykes in August 1946; she survives. He was a former Fisher Body, Lansing, employee, owned and operated his own roofing business in Ionia for several years, and later was employed by Ionia Public Schools for 10 years. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church and a former member of Ionia County Fishing and Hunting Club. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lucille) Kohloff of Ionia; Mrs. Norman (Mildred) Sawyer of Winter Park, Fla.; and Mrs. Richard (Phyllis) Millard of Lansing; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Raymor of Hart; one brother, Glenn Gallagher; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Sharp of Ionia; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and five nieces and one nephew. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at SS Peter and Paul Church. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at Roetman Funeral Home Sunday at 8 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for SS Peter and Paul Church, in care of the funeral home.
