Gallagher, 80, former Ionia businessman, died at his home in Easton township Sunday at 2:00 p.m., after being ill since the beginning of the year. He was born in Boston, Mass., March 31, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Gallagher. At an early date he moved with his parents to Saranac and later to Ionia. In 1897 he married Miss Mary Fea in Ionia at SS. Peter and Paul rectory. A year later they purchased a farm in Easton township, which they operated for several years. He also operated a lunchroom, the Sanitary Milk company, and Home Dairy. He retired from active business life about 20 years ago. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church and of the Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Sharp, of Ionia; two sons, George of Ionia and Glenn of Lansing; nine grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren. A daughter, Erma, died in 1944?. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul church. Interment will be in Mr. Olivet cemetery.
