       Excerpts from Grand Rapids Obituary

             GERALD "JERRY" GALLAGHER

Died Wednesday January 11, 2023-age 93 of Belding.
Born July 30, 1929 in Miami, Florida, the son of James and Bessie (Martin) 
Gallagher.
Graduated from Belding high school in Class of 1948.
Served in U.S. Army from 1952to 1954, during the Korean War.
Married Jane Bowen after returning from the war.
Jerry & Jane began their married life on their own farm & started Gallagher Farm 
Service.
Jerry served on the Orleans Township Board for 40 years.
Was a member of St.Joseph Catholic Church, Belding.
Survived by his children, Cindy Chipman of Orleans, Mike (Nicole) Gallagher of 
Grand Rapids, and Mary (Phil) Seidelman of Ionia. His grandchildren, Scott 
Chipman, Adam (Brittini) Chipman, and Carl Seidelman, his great-grandchildren, 
Daniel and Kerstin his brother Paul Gallagher of Miami, a sister-in-law, Gae 
Gallagher of Key Largo and many friends and neighbors.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jane, two brothers, Jim & Paul, and 
sons-in-law, Dean Chipman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 25, 2023, at 
St.Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father Jim Wyse presiding.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Johnson-
Feuerstein Funeral Home.,Belding.
Interment will be in Orleans Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Orleans Fire Department. Envelopes available at 
funeral home or church.
The family thanks all the caretakers that helped enable Jerry to remain at home 
on the farm.
