HORTANCIA GALLARDO
Lake Odessa, MI - Hortancia Gallardo, age 88, of Lake Odessa, passed away 
peacefully on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at her home.

Hortancia was born on February 11, 1929 to Domingo and Inez (Infante) Silva in 
Port Huron. She was better known as Nana. She loved welcoming people into her 
home, they never left with empty bellies. Her hobbies included gardening, 
canning, quilting, crocheting and going to flea markets with her husband Lazaro. 
Nana enjoyed garage sales, both having them and going to. Her house was always 
filled with flowers both inside and out, but none were as beautiful as her.

Hortancia was survived by her children, Olivia Weaver-Gallardo, Domingo 
Gallardo, Gloria Martinez, Mary Davis, and Lazaro Gallardo Jr.; sisters, Esther  
Silva and Vicki Escobedo; 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Inez Silva; husband, Lazaro 
Gallardo; son, Robert Gallardo; great grandson, Bailey Devenbaugh; sister, 
Amelia Baez; sister, Juanita Rodriguez.

Visitation for Hortancia will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel on Friday, 
September 22, 2017 from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM with Rosary at 7:30PM.

Services will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church in lake Odessa, on 
Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11AM with a visitation one hour prior to the 
service; from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, lake Odessa.

In Lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Hospice of Ionia 
County.
