Ionia Sentinel, 21 Jul 1959

Jess Galloup, 624 East Lincoln avenue, died about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ionia 
County Memorial hospital where he had been a patient about a week.  He was born 
May 10, 1883 in Montcalm county, the son of Noah and Matilda (Taylor) Galloup, 
and was married July 11, 1917 at Butternut to Myrtle E. Tingley.  He was 
employed at Ionia Manufacturing company for over 30 years and had lived at the 
same residence 36 years, coming here from Greenville.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; a son, Claud, Saranac; one daughter, Ruth Lucas 
of Ionia; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.   A son, Vern 
preceded him in death May 22, 1956.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from Myers funeral home with 
burial at Balcom cemetery.  The Rev. Alfred E. Miller will officiate.
