Ionia Daily Sentinel, 28 May 1917

Two deaths from severe cases of measles occurred in the same family Saturday and 
Sunday.  Saturday morning Earl Galloup, 725 West Main street, aged 30 years, 
died, and Sunday afternoon his mother, who lives with him, succumbed from the 
same disease.  The remains were taken to Sheridan where a double funeral will be 
held.
