Galloway, 58, living northeast of Ionia, died Wednesday evening at 10 o’clock, following months of illness. He suffered a stroke one week ago Sunday evening and had failed rapidly. Funeral services will be conducted from the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Dr. Paul L. Stewart. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery. Mr. Galloway was born in Flint and came to Ionia when a young man. In Ionia he was employed by the Pere Marquette as an engineer. Nineteen years ago he bought the farm where he died and had resided there since. Surviving is the widow; a son, Leonard, of Shelbyville, Ind.; brothers, Sylvan, of Detroit; James and Fletcher, of Lansing, and Oscar, who resided on the farm with Mr. and Mrs. Galloway. Subsequent Publication: Monday, March 30, 1931 In the presence of a home full of friends and relatives, Dr. Paul L. Stewart conducted the funeral services for John Galloway, Ionia township resident, who died of a stroke Wednesday morning. Music was provided by Mrs. R. A. Colwell and Mrs. Thane Benedict. Bearers were Elroy Cornell, Vernon Jones, Clarence Dale, and Arden McCormick. Burial took place in Highland Park cemetery.
