Robert E. Galloway, 59, of 3128 East Peck Lake road, Rural Ionia, died at his 
residence late Sunday morning.  He was born in Orange township September 11, 
1916 the son of Edwin and Revah Rowe Galloway.  He attended the Steele school 
and also schools in Ionia.  Since that time he has been engaged in farming at 
the family homestead for his entire work life.

He married Lucy Barnard in Portland June 25, 1935.  They celebrated their 40th 
anniversary last year.  He was a member of the LeValley United Methodist 
church and the Ionia County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife Lucy; four sons, Rev. Clinton Galloway of Woodland, 
Gordon of rural Ionia, Roderick and Rodney at home; two daughters, Mrs. 
Roberta Helms and Mrs. Nancy McKendry, both of rural Ionia, nine 
grandchildren; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Galloway of rural Ionia.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the LeValley United Methodist church 
with Rev. Dr. Lloyd G. Walker officiating.
