The Ionia Weekly Standard, Friday, January 27, 1911
Mrs. Louisa Galloway, who was buried at Palo on Friday last, came to the then 
village of Ionia from New York state in 1864, 47 years ago.  Her first husband 
was Dr. David Wortman, who died in 1873.  Her second husband was Barney D. 
Galloway, who died in 1895. 

When a young woman she united with the Baptist church, and as long as her 
health permitted, was always in her place at the church services.  God called 
her to rest after an illness of nearly five months, months of constant 
suffering, endured with patience and a loving thoughtfulness for those who 
cared for her.

Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wortman and sons Fred and Clifford of Ionia, and daughter, 
Bernice of Ann Arbor, Fred Wilder of Ionia, and Mr. and Mrs. Snyder of Ionia, 
partners in business with Frank Wortman, who was almost constantly with his 
mother the three months previous to her death, attended the funeral.
