William G. Gardner, age 82 of Pontiac, formerly of Saranac and East Lansing
passed away March 16, 2015.  He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Lansing the son of
Arthur W. and Francine W. (Landon) Gardner.

Bill graduated from East Lansing High School class of 1950.  He attended MSU
where he marched in the band and received his Bachelor’s Degree, and later
attended Northern Michigan University where he received his Master’s Degree.  He
married Patricia Henry July 1, 1961, in Saranac.  He worked as a Teacher and
Band Director at Whittemore-Prescott High School and other schools as well as a
Postman in West Branch.

Bill attended Galilee Baptist Church, Lake Orion Baptist Church and West Branch
United Methodist Church.  He was a member of the Bay City Band, active member of
Bay City Vets Band, SAMS in Saranac and always enjoyed singing and playing at
Galilee Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Gardner of Pontiac; son, Jim
(Michelle) Gardner of Lake Orion; grandchildren, Jake, Nick, Matt, Bethany, Ben
and Anna Kate all of Lake Orion.  Nieces and nephews also survive.  He was
preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Bonnie Reister.

Funeral Services for Bill will be held Saturday 3:30 p.m. at the Galilee Baptist
church with Pastor Andy Mooren officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from
1:30 p.m. until time of services at the church.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to American Cancer Society or Gentiva Hospice.  Arrangements by Lake
Funeral Home in Saranac.
