The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, April 30, 2009

Patrocinio Garcia, age 53, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed 
away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. 
Mrs. Garcia worked her entire life trying to make a better life for her 
family, many times working two jobs. She fought to the end! She was also a 
member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. 

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Alejandro Garcia; children, Alma 
(Samuel) Contreras of Ionia and Esteban (Liliana) Garcia of Grand Rapids; 5 
grandchildren, Adam, Diego, Grace, Vanessa, and Esteban Jr.; 13 siblings, 
Rosario, Enedina, Ezequiel, Eva, Serafin, Margarita, Uriel, Delia, Olivia, 
Guillermo, Mario, Baltazar, and Amalia; several nieces and nephews. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 
2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Melvin Fox, presiding. 
Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The 
family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich 
Street, Ionia from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Friday.  "Dedicated to all those who have 
lost the fight and to those who won't quit the fight".
