Mr. Gardner was 76 years of age and has lived in Otisco all but two years of his life. Smyrna being his home for many years. Owing to poor health he was compelled to retire from active life several years ago and being a well known and highly respected citizen he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Warren Gardner was born March 19, 1851 and passed away on July 14, 1927. He was united in marriage to Melvina R. Campbell on August 11, 1872 and to this union six children were born, all of whom are living. He leaves to morn their loss a bereaved widow and Clarence Gardner, of Smyrna; Chester Gardner, of Belding; Virgil Gardner, Merritt; Henry Gardner, Ionia; L. Gardner, Grand Ledge; Winfield Gardner, Mancelona and one brother, Addo Gardner, of Smyrna, besides eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home. Rev. H.S. Ellis officiated. Interment was in Smyrna cemetery.
