Lyons Herald, 19 May 1921

Sarah A. Dikeman was born in Havanna, Skyler county, New York, September 3, 
1841, and died May 11th, 1921, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George 
Hodgman, aged 79 years, 8 months and 8 days.  She made her home in New York the 
earlier days of her life, coming to Michigan with her parents in 1864.  On 
January 6th, 1869, she was united in marriage to John S. Gardner of Muir, where 
they resided until they moved to Lyons about eleven years ago.  She united with 
the Church of Christ forty years ago and was a member of that church at the 
time of her death.  She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, Mrs. Geo. 
Hodgman, and five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. C.M. Gardner, of Midland, and 
one brother, William J. Dikeman, of Hammondsport, New York, also a host of 
friends.
