The Portland Review & Observer, Thursday, May 10, 1951

Mrs. Almyra H. Gardner, 85, passed away last Sunday at the Eckert convalescent 
home in Ionia.  She had been residing at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John 
Hudson, of Portland.  

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Neller Funeral Home with Rev. 
Russell Hoover, of Eagle, and Rev. Wesley Buhl, of Grand Ledge, officiating.  
Burial was in Danby.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alsa J. Hudson, of Portland; sons, Clarence 
Peabody, of Portland, and Charles Peabody, of Lansing; sister Mrs. Emma Bump, 
of Sunfield.  There are also several grandchildren.  The deceased was born 
Oct. 10, 1865 in Roxand township.  She was the daughter of William Hoover.  
Her husband, George, died several years ago.

Bearers were George Hudson, Elmer Smith, Luther Lindsley, Vernon Whitacre, 
John Davids and Roy Dravenstatt.
