Francis Gardner Dies Saturday In Florida

Francis M. Gardner, 63, died Saturday at Roseland, Fla., and funeral services
were held Wednesday afternoon at Neller Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Treat
officiating, and burial was in Portland cemetery.  Mr. Gardner and his wife had
left Portland only a few weeks before his death.

Surviving are the wife, Hazel; a son, Francis M. Jr. in the US Air Force; two
sisters Mrs. Effie Ethridge of Little Rock, Ark. and Mrs. Minnie Helwig of
Paducah, Ky.; three brothers, Wallace Gardner of Boaz, Ky., and Edward and Tom
Gardner of Paducah.

Portland F & AM No. 31 was in charge of graveside services.  The deceased was a
member of Eastgate Masonic Lodge in Detroit and a veteran of World War I. 
Bearers were George Sandborn, Robert Holtz, Harry Smith, Richard Smith, Dan
Watson and Howard Wilcox.
