Alfred Tripp of Lyons Methodist church officiating. Mr. Gardner died Friday at Veterans hospital in Saginaw. Born December 28, 1886 in Muir he was the son of William and Emma Gardner. He attended Muir school and was employed in Detroit for many years. In May 1918 he enlisted in the Army in Pontiac and served in England and France. He was gassed in Argonne Woods, France and received a medical discharge in 1919 at Ft. Custer. He had lived in Barryton since 1928 and was an interior decorator. Bearers where Harry E. Hendrickson, Hugh M. Kelley, Paul and Peter Dadd, Lawrence Nelson and John Walker. The flag was folded by Carl Seabrook of Ionia and Richard Hull of Muir and presented to the brother, Harry F. Gardner of Lyons. Interment was at Muir cemetery.
