Lake Odessa Wave, 28 Sep 1978

Lake Odessa - Jack E. Gardner, 39, of 1642 Jordan Lake Ave., died Wednesday
morning at Butterworth hospital where he had been a patient for one week.

He was born March 1, 1939, the son of Delmer and Letha Parker Gardner.  Mr.
Gardner attended Lake Odessa schools and married the former Donna Strimback June
21, 1958 in Lake Odessa.  He was employed by TRW in Portland and served for two
years as chief of police in the village of Lake Odessa.  He was a member of St.
Edwards Catholic church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons John and Eric at home; two brothers,
Delmer, Jr. of Lake Mills, Wisconsin and Richard of Nashville; his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Delmer Gardner of Lake Odessa; one sister, Mrs. Wesley (Kaye) Friend of
Woodland and several nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa Friday at
7:30 p.m.  Funeral mass is Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards church with Father
Charles Dautremont officiating. 	Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
