Belding Banner-News, 16 Jun 1898

Mrs. Wm. H. Gardner died at her home a few miles north of this city on the farm
where the family were living, Friday afternoon at four o’clock.  She had been
sick but a few days and her physician from Greenville left her feeling better
the day before her demise.  She had been subject to heart trouble for a number
of years and it is supposed a severe attack caused her sudden death.  Mrs.
Gardner was for a number of years a resident in this city, a member of the
Women’s Club, and at one time prominent in musical circles.  Funeral services
were held at the home Sunday afternoon, quite a large number from here were in
attendance, the bearers all being gentlemen from Belding.  She leaves a husband,
two sons and a little daughter.
