CHARLES GARDNER, FORMER GROCER HERE, IS DEAD
Well-Known Ionian Passes Away at His Home in Detroit This Morning.

Charles Gardner, a former resident of this city, and well known throughout this
vicinity, died at his home in Detroit this morning Mr. Gardner was for several years employed at
the G. F. Phelps grocery and later was employed at the Robb & Reed grocery. He was employed at
the Rich grocery store just before going to Detroit.

The cause of death was not learned. Mr. Gardner leaves, besides his wife, one son,
Dale Gardner, who also lives in Detroit. The body will be brought to Ionia, where burial
will take place.

His wife is Nettie (McDonald)
