The splendid care at the hospital and at her mothers home Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Knapp in Detroit and the thoughtfulness of her husband probably lengthened her days. She often planned on her home coming when she should get better, but when she came it was sleeping amid a profusion of roses and other beautiful flowers sent by loving friends. Always beautiful in face and figure in life she as sweetly slept in death. Mrs. Garlinger’s girlhood including her school days and Sunday School days were spent in Lake Odessa where she always had a smile for everyone. Was always cheery and lovable. The funeral was held from their residence on main street over the Garlinger Market Saturday July 12, 1924. The sermon was by Rev. W. J. Prestige of Midland. The music by George Kart and Leon Gilson with Mrs. Gilson accompanist. Those attending from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Mohrhardt and their daughters Betrice and Bernice, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stafford, and Loyd Branch all of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Conley, Hilda Vibber, and H. W. Vandver of Detroit, J. E. Garlinger of Chicago, Will Garlinger of Cadillac, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Snyder of Big Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Grissoy of Wacousta, Mrs. Bell Shaibley of Alma, Ralph Jordan of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Granart and Emma Nott of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rising of Pontiac, Mr. and Mrs. Geo Nott of Chippewa Lake, James Nott and wife of Ionia.
