Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Aug 1964

Funeral service for Mrs. Edith C. Garlinger, wife of Ermal G. Garlinger, former 
mayor and businessman, was conducted Sunday at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake 
Odessa.

Mrs. Garlinger was a member of First Congregational church, life member of 
Order of the Eastern Star, Woman’s Christian Temperance Union and was active in 
Red Cross work.

She was associated with her husband and son, Fred, and daughters, Laurel, and 
Marcia Garlinger Raffler, family owners of the Lake Odessa Produce company for 
which she was bookkeeper 40 years.  Mr. and Mrs. Garlinger retired after being 
associated with the egg and poultry business 50 years.  The business is now 
operated by the son, Fred and daughter, Laurel.

Honorary bearers were Fred Berndt, Ron Erickson, George Geisel, Keith Haller, 
Bernard Johnson and Ernest Klahn.  Committal service was held at the chapel.

Business associated, friends and relatives attended from Michigan, Illinois and 
Colorado.
