Lake Odessa Wave
            OBITUARY
   Mrs. Edith C. Garlinger, 69, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, July 30
at the Ferguson Droste hospital in Grand Rapids.  She had been hospitalized about two 
weeks and had undergone surgery.
   A native of Plano, Ill. she was born January 20, 1895 and her parents were
Charles and Sophia Wessman Lindquist.  She came to the local area with her parents in 
1915, residing on a farm northeast of town.  She was a 1913 graduate of the Plano high 
school.  Formerly employed as a telephone operator, and late years was affiliated with 
her husband and family in the Lake Odessa Produce Company.
   She was a member of the Congregational church, Women's Fellowship at the church,
life member of the Lake Odessa Chapter OES, WCTU, and active in Red Cross work.
   Surviving are her husband;  two daughters Miss Laurel Garlinger and Mrs. Arthur
(Marcia) Raffler;  a son Frederick O. and four grand children all of Lake Odessa and a 
brother Oscar Lindquist of Lansing.
   Funeral services were held Sunday August 2 at the Pickens Chapel with burial in
Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. Paul Bennehoff officiated.
