She was born August 1, 1873 in Sunfield township, the daughter of William and Adelia Knott. She was a member of the Congregational church and a life member of the Lake Odessa chapter of O.E.S. She was a prominent and active worker for the Red cross and was a charter member. She received a pin and certificate of merit for her many years of service as a volunteer worker. She was married to Benjamin Garlinger September 26, 1892., who preceded her in death in 1924. Mrs. Garlinger was a resident of the village of Lake Odessa for more than 60 years and lived in her present home for the past 59 years. Surviving are two sons, Orvin B., and Ermal G., of Lake Odessa; one sister, Mrs. Flossie Earle of Lake Odessa, and two brothers, Harvey Knott of Lake Odessa and James Knott of Lowell; three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Mrs. Garlinger reposes at the Pickens funeral chapel where services will be conducted Sunday at 3 o’clock with the Rev. Mr. Pittman officiating. Burial will be Monday at Lakeside cemetery.
