CARSON CITY- Funeral services are being held Wednesday afternoon at the Schnepp 
Funeral Home in Carson City for Ruth Garlock, 92, who died early Monday at a
Grand Rapids nursing home where she had been a patient nearly six weeks.

Born in Bloomer Township of Montcalm County to Horace and Sarah (Small) Powell 
on Jan. 20, 1891, she grew up, graduated from Carson City High School in 1909 
and married Ira Garlock in 1910.

Their three children survive. They are Mrs. John (Doris) Crocket of Kalamazoo, 
Marlon of Lake Odessa and Harlan of Reed City.

Her husband died in 1956. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great-
grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Murry (Doris) 
Rice of Allred, N.Y.
