The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, May 11, 1923


Mrs. Mary Garret, a life long resident of Ionia county, passed away at the home 
of her daughter, Mrs. Elton Leiter, at Six Lakes last evening at about 6 
o’clock.  Mrs. Garret had been spending the winter with her daughter, and had 
been quite ill for about three or four weeks.  Mrs. Garret, whose home was on 
High street, was about 78 years of age at the time of her death.  Mr. Garret 
died about two years ago.  Mrs. Garret is survived by three children, Mrs. 
Leiter, of Six Lakes, Mrs. Wilber Paustle, and William Garret, Jr., of this 
city.  She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Christie Goodenough, of 
Stanton.  The body will arrive today from Six Lakes, and the funeral 
announcement will be made later.

Subsequent Publication:  Saturday, May 12, 1923

The funeral services for Mrs. William Garrett, Sr., will be held from the late 
residence, 355 High street, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 city time.  Rev. M. H. 
Garrard will officiate.  Burial will take place in the family lot at the Tuttle 
cemetery.  Mrs. Garrett passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elton 
Leiter at Six Lakes, Thursday morning.  The body was brought to Ionia Friday.
