Chapman, succumbed to an extended illness Sunday morning at 10 o’clock at the Henry Ford hospital, where he had been in critical condition several weeks. Mr. Garvey, who was employed as an engineer with the Ford Motor company, was 57 years of age. He was born in Leeds, England, but had resided in this country most of his life. Frequently he had been a visitor in Ionia and enjoyed a wide circle of acquaintances here. Funeral services will be held at Holy Redeemer church in Detroit Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock when a Requiem High Mass will be offered. Interment in Holy Sepulchre cemetery will be in charge of officers of Detroit council No. 305 Knights of Columbus. Mr. Garvey was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and a member of the Detroit uniformed drill team. Surviving with Mr. Chapman are his widow, Mrs. Mary Garvey; his mother, Mrs. Anna Chapman, of Toledo; a sister, Mrs. Fred Gausman of Toledo, and two other half-brothers, Frank and Alexander Chapman, both of Detroit.
