Bill was born on February 13, 1920 on the family farm near Miriam, the son of Joseph and Matilda Schuller Gasper. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. Bill saw action in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, being wounded in France. He also received a Purple Heart. Bill retired from Extruded Metals Corp. After the war he married Leona Feuerstein. He was preceded by his parents; sister, Caroline; and brother, Jerome. He is survived by his wife, Leona; their children, Gary Gasper, and Rick and Debbie Gasper, all of Greenville; grandchildren; Brent and Jen Gasper of Iowa, Jeremy Gasper of Newaygo, Ty Gasper of Greenville, brothers and sisters and their spouses, Tom and Kathy Gasper, Bob and Irene Gasper all of Belding, Beatrice and Fred Rathbun of Lowell, Doris and Al Stout of Fenwick; and sister-in-law; Agnes Gasper of Belding. Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Miriam, with Father CK officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before mass. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral services were entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
