Life’s Conflict Over
Mrs. Peter Gasper Lays Down the Sceptre to Accept the Crown.

On Monday morning the wires brought to this city the news that Elizabeth,
beloved wife of Peter Gasper of Keene and sister of Otto Kuhn of this city had
passed away in Detroit, where she has been for some time past taking treatment
for a cancer that for the past three years had been slowly but surely eating its
way to the vital organs and sapping the life blood and strength of her who has
at last been numbered with the dead.

Mrs. Gasper was only 43 years of age and had always enjoyed the best of health
until the ravages of the cancer began its malicious inroad in the vital organs,
and all that human skill could be done was of no avail.

The funeral was held on Wednesday at the Catholic church in Miriam and a large
concourse of friends gathered together to assist in the last sad rites over the
body, of her who in life numbered among her friends everyone who knew her.
