Grim Reaper Takes Heavy Toll During Week in Lake Odessa
Pioneers of That Community Start on the Long Journey Through Eternity

Mrs. Rudolph Gatner, pioneer resident of Odessa township, passed away Saturday
at her home west of Lake Odessa, death being due to paralysis, with which she
was stricken some time ago.  Both Mrs. Gatner and her aged husband, who
survives, were pioneer residents of Odessa township.  A few years ago their
beautiful home was destroyed by fire, but with true pioneer spirit another was
erected to take the place of the destroyed domicile.  Funeral services for Mrs.
Gatner were held at the United Brethren church at Lake Odessa Monday afternoon,
Rev. Spafford, the family minister, preaching the funeral discourse.  Interment
was made in Lakeside cemetery.
