Gattner, 72, died suddenly while walking on the sidewalk on the west side of north Fifth avenue late Thursday afternoon of last week. He was on his way home from the canning factory when he was taken with the fatal heart attack. He was born in Oho and came to Michigan at an early age. In 1899 he was married to Ina Foght and they spent several years on the home farm. A number of years ago they moved to Lake Odessa. He had been employed as engineer by the Lake Odessa Malted Cereal Co. and the local schools and also in the Lake Odessa Canning Co. factory. Surviving are the widow, Ina; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Rairigh and Mrs. Ervin Dye, Lake Odessa; Mrs. Carolyn Randall in Detroit; three sons, Dolph in Lansing, Clare in Detroit, and Paul, Lake Odessa; 13 grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Haight, Mrs. Flora Mote and Miss Venda Gattner all of Lansing. Funeral services were held at the Pickens Funeral chapel Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Dr. Victor W. Thrall officiating. Interment was in Lakeside cemetery.
