The Ionia County News, Thursday, November 11, 1943
Mrs. Christopher Gaut, 67, life time resident of Ionia County, died at eight 
o’clock Wednesday morning, November 10, in Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  
Mrs. Gaut suffered a stroke Tuesday evening and was taken to the hospital 
where she suffered a second stroke, within 24 hours, which resulted in her 
death.

She was born in Lyons township August 6, 1876, and for 35 years had lived at 
461 Allen street. Mrs. Gaut is survived by her husband, Christopher, a 
daughter, Mrs. Harry Johnson, Memphis, Tenn., two sons, Percy Miller, 
Dearborn, and Theron Miller, Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Hannah, 
Detroit; a step daughter, Mrs. Henry Ellers, Indianapolis, Ind., and several 
grandchildren.  Service will be from Stone Funerals Home.
