ETHEL MAE (HANSBARGER) GAVIT

Ethel Mae (Hansbarger) Gavit, 83, of Grand Ledge, died Sunday, June 21 at 
Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

She was born Feb. 5, 1904, in Odessa Township, the daughter of Harley and Jennie 
Hansbarger. She was known for interior decorating of homes, and she hung 
wallpaper and painted in thousands of homes in Michigan for many years.Her 
husband, Jessie A.Gavit, preceded her in death on Feb.7, 1975 She attended 
United Methodist Church of Grand Ledge.

Survivors include one daughter June Irene Tyler of Grand Ledge; one 
granddaughter; one grandson; two great-grandsons; three sisters, Audrey Barker 
of Belding, Gayla Burrows of Mesa, Ariz. and Jennie Tasker; one brother, Harley 
Hansbarger of Port St.Lucia, Fla. a sister-in-law, Velma Davis of Bradenton, 
Fla; and several nieces, nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., at the Koops Funeral 
Chapel inLake Odessa, with the Rev. Phillip Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.Friends may meet the 
family Monday, from 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral 
chapel.
