The Rev. Arthur E. Gay, 72, former pastor of the Lake Odessa Congregational 
church, died in a Grant convalescent home Monday night.

The Rev. Gay served in the Lake Odessa church from 1923 to about 1927.  From 
Lake Odessa he went to Ithaca, then to Leslie where his wife died, and finally 
to Fremont.  He served Fremont for 13 years, retiring from the ministry in 1947.

He is survived by three children.  A daughter is Mrs. Ruth Shumaker, wife of a 
Stanton druggist.  The whereabouts of the other two children, a son Chester, 
and another daughter, Grace, are unknown.

Besides the Lake Odessa, Leslie and Fremont pastorates the Rev. Gay also served 
in Parma, Scottville, Union City, Ovid, and Watervliet.
