F. Gazella, 78, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away on Sat. Oct. 26, 2002, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House in Dade City. Mr. Gazella was born Oct. 16, 1924 in Ionia, to Francis and Mildred Gazella. He was very proud to serve his country in the United States Navy as a pharmacist mate during World War II (Pacific). Mr. Gazella was a funeral director for 10 years, after which he traveled from Michigan to Florida doing food concessions at local fairs. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Marianna, Fla., and a member of the American Legion and Showmen’s Association of Tampa. He lived in Florida for 26 years. James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean; three daughters, Jeannine (James and Jeff) Gazella of Zephyrhills, Michelle (Bruce) Gotthardt of Caroll, Ohio and Susan Gazella of Stuart, Fla.; three sons, Richard (Lisa) Gazella of Carson City, James Gazella Jr. of Crystal and Gerard (Lori) Gazella of Chesterfield; two brothers; six sisters; nine grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, Fla. Oakley Funeral Homes Dade City and Zephyrhills.
