The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 4, 1962

Fred J. Gazella, 71, of 1838 Lotus street SE, Grand Rapids, former resident of 
Ionia, died suddenly at his home Monday evening.  

He was a veteran of World War I and a retired C & O Railroad employee.  He was 
a former financial secretary of Ionia Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Frances, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel 
Slowinski; two brothers, Robert and Steven Gazella of Ionia and a sister, Mrs. 
Estella McDonald of Pontiac.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier church in Grand Rapids 
Thursday at 10 a.m., with burial at Mt. Olivet Catholic cemetery in Ionia.  
Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:30 at the Ronan funeral home, 
1701 Madison avenue SE, Grand Rapids.
