Gazella, 82, died Monday afternoon at 4:18 in the Ionia Convalescent Home where she has been a patient since Saturday. She had been in poor health for four years and seriously ill for five months. Mrs. Gazella was born in Poland December 24, 1867, the daughter of Martin and Frances Grescoviak. She married Anthony Gazella in Poland in 1883 and they came to this country in 1885. She lived in Chicago for five years and has lived in Ionia for the past 57 years. Her husband died August 18,, 1943. One daughter, Mrs. Madeline Horrocks, died in 1944. Mrs. Gazella was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Church and of the Rosary Society. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mary Moore, Mt. Clemens, Mrs. Morris Duell, and Mrs. William Kuhtz with whom she had lived for some time; four sons Michael of Muskegon, Tony of Grand Rapids, John of Redford and Frank of Ionia. Twenty-two grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and four brothers, Anthony, Frank, Martin and Stanley Grescoviak, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Darges, also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 am at SS. Peter and Paul church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the home of Mrs. Gazella’s son, Frank at 530 West Main Street Wednesday night at 8 pm. The body will repose at Frank Gazella’s home Tuesday evening.
