Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Oct. 16, 1979

IONIA- Mildred E. Gazella, 76, formerly of Evergreen Trailer Park, died Monday 
night at a rural Ionia nursing home.

She was born in Ionia, Nov. 16, 1902, the daughter of Fred and Zoe Janes Basom.

She graduated from Ionia High School and Ionia County Normal. She taught rural 
schools at Dildine and Cooks Corners, near Belding.

She married Louis Gazella on June 1, 1932 at Goshen, Ind. They made their home 
in Grand Rapids where Mrs. Gazella worked at Blodgett Hospital for several 
years.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1963. She then moved to Ionia.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Francis Dye, of Ionia; two nephews and a 
niece. 

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home today and 
Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established for the Kidney Foundation. Contributions 
may be left at the funeral home.
