Aug. 30, 1979 WOODLAND- Mrs. Frances Louise Gearhart, 99 of 136 Florence St., Woodland, died Monday at the Barry County Medical Facility where she had made her home for the past 10 years. Mrs. Gearhart was born Nov. 2, 1897 in Virginia, the daughter of James and Francis (Cheal) Meadows. She married Jacob Hoover, who preceded her in death in 1939. In 1952 she married Dervin Gearhart. She lived in the Sunfield and Woodland areas most of her life. She was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren and the W.C.T.U. of Woodland. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Lucy) Rise of Sunfield, Mrs. Dorothy Quigg of Jackson, Ms. Roy (Virginia) Roberts of Nashville, Mrs. Kenneth (Pauline) Giesel of Ionia, Mrs. Richard (Genevine) Potter of Hastings; one half brother, Rev. Clyde Meadows of Pennsylvania, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one son, Irvin Hoover preceded her in death in 1974, and one daughter, Francis Fohl preceded her in death in 1965. Funeral services will be held at the Pickens-Koops funeral Home in Lake Odessa on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brant Zambrun officiating. Burial will be in Sunfield Cemetery.
