Gee, 112 Illinois avenue, Pontiac. Mrs. Gee passed away late Monday afternoon at St. Joseph hospital in Pontiac after an illness of two months, part of which time she was in a coma which continued until her death. An autopsy determined her death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. Dr. H.H. Savage, pastor of the First Baptist church in Pontiac, of which Mrs. Gee was a member officiated at the services. He was assisted by the Rev. Smith and one other minister giving the prayers. The organist for the service was Charles Wilson. Mrs. T.N. Slosson as soloist sang “Sometime Understand” and the “Twenty Third Psalm.” Mrs. Gee was born in Lyons, Nov. 14, 1898, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Ashley. She was a graduate of Lyons high school and of the Ypsilanti State Teachers college. She taught school in Pontiac for several years. In 1922 she was married in Ionia to David H. Gee of Pewamo, by the Rev. E.E. Branch. They have lived in Pontiac where Mr. Gee owned a coal business. Mrs. Gee has always been active in church work, and took an active part in all church activities both in Lyons and Pontiac. She was a member of the Fellowship Sunday school class of her church, the Gleaner Missionary Society, past president of the Gideon Society and was chaplain of the society at the time of her death. Dr. Savage spoke of the active Christian life led by Mrs. Gee and of the loyal support of both Mr. and Mrs. Gee of their church. Surviving besides the husband, David, are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Mildred Pettit of Pontiac; three grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Ethelyn Ashley and Mrs. William Bower both of Pontiac. Interment was at Ottawa Park cemetery, just north west of Pontiac. Relatives from this vicinity who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Eric Gee of Pewamo, Mr. and Mrs. Hector Gee and Mrs. Louis Mason of Muir, Dennis Gee of Lyons, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Robertson, Mrs. Clifton Gee and daughter, Marcia of Ionia and Mrs. William Consor of Olympia, Wash., the former Doris Gee of Lyons, who is visiting her sister, Mrs. Max Bader and family of Lansing. Other friends attending were Mrs. Lawrence Albright, Mrs. Orrie Maynard, Miss Maxine Maynard and Mrs. H.F. Gardner, Lyons.
