Gee, 86, of 222 Garden, Muir, died Sunday at Ionia County Memorial hospital. He was born April 15, 1886 and was a lifelong resident of the Muir area. He was retired from Ionia State hospital in 1956 where he had worked 15 years. Mr. Gee was the inventor of a motorized ice machine and the article recently appeared in the 50 years ago column of the Sentinel-Standard. December 27, 1913, he was married to the former Cassie Townsend. He was a member of Lyons Masonic lodge F&AM. Surviving besides his wife, Cassie, are two daughters, Mrs. Naomi Sharp of Haslett and Mrs. Lillian Mason of Muir; two sons, Francis of Muir and Clyde of route 1, Lyons; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a brother, David of Florida. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Muir Presbyterian church. Rev. Richard Strait will officiate and interment will be at Muir cemetery. Family will be at the Estep funeral home north of Muir Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Bearers will be Edward Mason, Alan Sharp, Robert Gee, Douglas Gee, Dale Gee and Ronald Mason.
