Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 25 Aug 1960

Esten G. Geiger, 55, Muskegon, died unexpectedly Tuesday night in the hospital
at St. Johns.  He was born in Woodland October 4, 1904, the son of Henry and
Ruth Smith Geiger, and came to Lake Odessa with his parents as a small child.

Mr. Geiger attended local schools and spent his early life in the Lake Odessa
area where he was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone company before moving to
Muskegon about 31 years ago.  Since that time he has been employed by the Home
Telephone company.

He is survived by his wife, the former Tressie Shire of Lake Odessa; four
children; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Geiger of Lake Odessa; two
sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Beulah) Slocum of Ionia, and Mrs. Jack (Ardeth) Spencer of
Lake Odessa; two brothers, Paul Geiger of Woodland, and Russell of Ionia.

Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Lee funeral home in Muskegon
Heights with interment at Lakeside cemetery at Lake Odessa.
