Karl Friederich Geiger, 80, of Smyrna died Thursday Aug. 31, 1995 at his home. 
He was born Feb. 18, 1915 in Smyrna, the son of Carl and Agnes (Krupp) Geiger. 
A lifelong area resident, he was a member of the Smyrna Social Club, Smyrna
Friendship Club, a charter member and a past president of the Belding Area Lions
Club and past honorary member of the Michigan Well Drillers Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Frances Mattison Geiger, his
parents, brothers Paul and George and sister Laurette Borek.  He is survived by
his children: Karlton (Bobbie) Geiger, of Greenville, Karla (Jim) Anderson, of
East Grand Rapids, Kathleen Geiger and Kirt Moore, of Belding, Kerry (Tonya)
Geiger, of Temple, Tex., Karlene (Stephen) Johnson of Smyrna, Kelvin Geiger, of
Smyrna, Joy Harris, of Belding and Wayne King, of Greenville; grandchildren:
Keith Geiger, Beth (Rod) Stendel, Laura Eddie, Gavin Anderson and Daneena
Dickson, Ashlin Anderson, Kaitlin (Kegan) King, Kameron (Karley) Geiger,
Jennifer (David) Johnston and Justin (Joana) Johnson; great-grandchildren: Titan
Anderson and Renee Stendel; brothers: John, Ernest and Raymond; sisters: Esther
(Pierce), Valeria (Randall) and Nora (Rich).

Funeral services will be held Sunday Sept. 3, 1995 at 2 p.m. at the Johnson
Funeral Home in Belding, with Rev. Darwyn Hassert officiating.  Interment will
be in the Smyrna Cemetery, in Smyrna.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 7
p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the
Smyrna Social Club, Belding Area Lions Club or the charity of your choice.
