Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday January 12, 1967

Service Held for Mrs.Ruth Geiger

Mrs. Ruth Geiger, 86, passed away Saturday morning at the Bide-A-Wee Rest Home 
at Belding where she had been a resident for about 14 months.

A native of Woodland, she was a lifelong resident of the Woodland and Lake 
Odessa areas. Her parents were George and Rose Smith.

Mrs. Geiger was a member of the WSCS and the Adult Fellowship of the Central 
methodist church, the Refuse Rebekah Lodge, Merry Social club, Jolly Dozen and 
the Tupper Lake Extension group.

She married Henry Geiger December 21, 1897 and he passed away October 13, 1955.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Beulah) Slocum of Ionia and Mrs.Jack 
(Ardith) Spencer of Lake Odessa; a son Paul of Woodland; sixteen grandchildren; 
45 great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.


Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with 
burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated.
