Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday April 17, 1975

Last Rites for Fred Geiger, Sr.
Fred J. Geiger Sr. 95, retired farmer passed away Saturday afternoon at the 
Barry County Medical Care Facility, near Hastings. He had been a patient there 
for six weeks.

He was born November 22, 1879, in Woodland township, the son of Andrew and 
Louise (Hickman) Geiger and had spent his entire life in the same area.

Mr.Geiger married Ruth Underwood March 12,1910 and she passed away November 
16,1978.

He was a member of the Nazarene Church at Nashville for 30 years.

Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Elwin (Alberta) Curtis and one son Fred Geiger 
Jr., both of rural Woodland; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, lake 
Odessa. Rev. James Sherman officiated with burial in the Woodland Memorial Park.
