Hilda was born August 10, 1922 in Mount Pleasant, to Ernest and Frieda Rauch Anthony. She was raised in the Oil City area and attended Mount Pleasant Schools. On November 17, 1941, in Ohio, Hilda married Richard Geister. Hilda was a member of Belding Assembly of God and the Lakeview VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Hilda enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making things for her grandchildren, bowling, playing cards, gardening and traveling. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard, on June 15, 1982; and infant brother, John. Hilda is survived by son Richard Geister of Belding; daughter Susan Nowak of Cedar Springs; six grandchildren, Daniel, Amy and Thomas Nowak, Rhonda and her husband Todd Davis, Richard and his wife Mindy Geister, Sarah Laughlin; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ashlie, Lindsie, Chad and Andrew Marcus, Patrick, Shelby Ream, Daniel and Emily Nowak, Lee James Geister, Keith Laughlin. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Belding Assembly of God with Pastor Clayton Smith officiating. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Huffman-Brigham Funeral Chapel, Belding. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family.
