Geister, 70, Orleans, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 5, 1997, at Butterworth Hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1927, in Omer, to Robert and Ila Whitmore Geister. He retired in 1981 from General Motors in Flint. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy, and was a member of the Sheridan VFW Post 5065. He is survived by his children, Mary and Dale Allen of Belding, Kathy Geister of Ionia, Joy and Jerry Thornton of Orleans, Brenda and Rex Roberts of Orleans, Michael and Deloras Geister, Andrew and Anne Geister, all of Ionia, Dave and Ruth Leedey of Muskegon, Richard and Tracy Geister of Seward, Alaska; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ron McMichael of Lady Lake, Fla.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Harmon and Wilma Geister of Belding. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Blanche Dunn, Deloras Keehner, Edith Thatcher, Betty Jean Geister and Beatrice Chrysler; and four brothers, Hank, Carl, Richard and Robert Geister. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
